Bhubaneswar, Aug 4: The Odisha government has transferred and reassigned eight Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officers in a major bureaucratic reshuffle aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency across various departments.

According to an official notification, Debadatta Suranjita Jena, who was serving as Special Secretary in the Commerce and Transport Department, has been appointed as the Special Secretary in the Energy Department.

Rashmiranjan Nayak, previously posted in the Water Resources Department, has been appointed as the Additional Secretary in the Commerce and Transport Department. He will also hold the additional charge of Director of Civil Aviation.

Similarly, Ramesh Chandra Panda, Additional Secretary in the Energy Department, has been posted as the Secretary of the Odisha State Information Commission. Nirupama Swain has been appointed as the Additional Secretary to the Board of Revenue.

In another key appointment, Sabita Mallik, who was serving as Senior Administrative Officer in the office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), has been transferred as the Additional Secretary in the Water Resources Department.

Anamika Adhikari, Registrar of Utkal University of Culture, has been appointed as the Joint Secretary in the Agriculture Department. Meanwhile, Debashish Patra, Deputy Secretary in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, has been posted as the Senior Administrative Officer in the PCCF office.

The government has also appointed the Special Land Acquisition Officer of the Cheligada Irrigation Project in Gajapati district as the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Rayagada district.

The latest reshuffle is part of the state government's ongoing efforts to streamline governance and improve administrative functioning across departments.
