Bhubaneswar, May 6: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu for granting in-principle approval for the establishment of a Greenfield airport in Puri.
CM Majhi expressed his gratitude and said that this decision will provide a major boost to religious tourism, regional development & overall connectivity in the region.
Taking to his official ‘X’ account, he wrote, “Thanks to Hon’ble PM Sri Narendra Modi and Sri Ram Mohan Naidu, Minister of Civil Aviation for granting of in-principle approval for establishment of a Greenfield airport in #Puri. This decision will provide a major boost to religious tourism, regional development & overall connectivity in the region.”
He highlighted that Odisha Government is focused on building a prosperous state by developing strong infrastructure and promoting industrial growth. Strengthening air connectivity is a key part of this plan.
He also informed that there are plans to set up another airport in Paradip, in addition to the one in Puri.
With the Centre’s approval, CM Majhi expressed hope that more national and international tourists will visit Odisha, leading to major growth in the tourism sector and creating new opportunities for the state.
