Odisha CM suspends three faculty members of Jajpur Govt Polytechnic over misconduct

Bhubaneswar, October 28: The Odisha Government has suspended three faculty members of Jajpur Government Polytechnic over allegations of indiscipline and misconduct. The action was taken on the direction of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, according to an official release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Wednesday.

The suspended faculty members have been identified as senior Nursingha Charan Behera, Sandeep Mahapatra and P. Aradhana.

According to the CMO communique, the three faculty members were involved in heated arguments, physical altercations and other acts of misconduct during a meeting on October 26 and also in later stages.

The alleged behaviour has raised serious concerns over professional ethics and discipline within the institution. Despite being members of the teaching fraternity, the faculty members reportedly engaged in such undignified conduct in the presence of students, tarnishing the reputation of the institution and adversely affecting its overall academic environment.

Taking serious note of the matter, Chief Minister Majhi ordered the suspension of all three faculty members and directed the authorities to initiate disciplinary proceedings against them.

The action underscores the state government’s emphasis on maintaining discipline, professional responsibility and a conducive academic atmosphere in educational institutions.
