Bhubaneswar, Feb 8: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the fifth edition of the Odisha Travel Bazaar at the Eco Retreat Konark. With the participation of over 70 domestic tour operators from 18 states, the three-day event showcased a diverse array of travel offerings, garnering enthusiastic feedback.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Patnaik highlighted Odisha's recent efforts to develop niche tourism experiences. He emphasized the state's commitment to offer tourism products that meet global standards, aiming to attract top brands in the travel and hospitality sector as well as tourists seeking unique, tailored experiences.
Acknowledging Odisha's rich tourist attractions, Patnaik called upon the travel industry to actively promote the state. Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav, Director of Tourism, presented Odisha Tourism's initiatives during the event. He emphasized the state's focus on innovative products such as Eco Retreats, Boat Clubs, Yachts, Caravans, and Camping to appeal to the younger generation of travelers. Jadhav highlighted the state's dedication to sustainable and responsible tourism through Eco Tour nature camps, managed by the Forest Department in collaboration with local communities.
Lenin Mohanty, Chairman of the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) and CMD Swosti Group, underscored the significance of the Odisha Travel Bazaar. He emphasized its role in facilitating interaction among global travel and tourism industry stakeholders, enabling them to experience Odisha's diverse tourism offerings. This, in turn, enhances the state's marketing efforts to targeted audiences, including investors and the travel community.
