Hyderabad, July 14: Five members of the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit from Chhattisgarh surrendered before the police in Telangana’s Mulugu district on Monday.
The surrendered individuals held various ranks within the organization, including the position of Area Committee Member (ACM). They laid down their arms before Mulugu Superintendent of Police, Shabarish P, according to an official release.
Their decision to surrender was influenced by the Telangana government's ongoing development and welfare initiatives aimed at Tribal (Adivasi) communities, as well as the rehabilitation measures available for former Maoists, the release added.
