Nayagarh, August 3: An assault took place in SB high school in Machipada village within Sadar police limits of Nayagarh district when a violent mob attacked students and a teacher on Friday.
According to reports, a mob of around 20 youths forcibly entered the school and attacked students and teachers over a past argument. At least two students and a teacher suffered injuries in the attack.
The youths trespassed into the school building when classes were underway and started attacking the targeted students. A teacher also was injured for trying to resist the mob.
Police rushed to the spot being informed about the incident, but by then, the attackers had fled. Police suspect the assault might be fallout of an argument which took place between the school students and some local youths recently.
The injured students and teacher have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital and health condition is stated to be stable.
We have collected the footage of CCTV camera installed on the school campus and strict action will be taken against those involved in the attack, said, Nayagarh SDPO Sudhakar Sahoo.
