Modi felicitated by PMO officials for longest-serving PM milestone

New Delhi, June 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday was felicitated by officers and staff of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) after achieving the historic distinction of becoming India's longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister in three consecutive terms.

The warm and celebratory gathering at the PMO saw senior officials extending their congratulations to the Prime Minister.

“Officers of the Prime Minister’s Office congratulated PM @narendramodi on becoming the longest serving democratically elected Prime Minister of India in consecutive terms. Over the last twelve years, he has provided leadership characterised by stability, transparency and a steadfast commitment to good governance, inclusive development and national progress,” said PMO.

Among those present alongside PM Modi were Dr. P.K. Mishra and Shaktikanta Das, both serving as Principal Secretaries to the Prime Minister, hailing from Odisha. Their presence added a special significance to the historic occasion.

Other senior officials from Odisha serving in the Prime Minister's Office also attended the felicitation, including Additional Secretary Subhasish Panda. Odisha-cadre IAS officer and Director G. Reghu was also present. 

Meanwhie, the Union Cabinet also passed a resolution applauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming the longest-serving elected PM for consecutive terms, as he completed 4,399 days in the office.

Members of the Cabinet also gave a standing ovation to PM Modi.

Today, PM Modi surpassed former PM Jawaharlal Nehru's record of 4,398 consecutive days served after the first general election.
