Bhubaneswar, September 16: A robbery attempt targeting a bank cashier carrying Rs 28 lakh in cash was foiled in Balugaon, Khurda district, on Wednesday.
Punjab National Bank (PNB) cashier Ramesh Behera and employee Prashant Nayak were returning to the branch from a nearby ATM after collecting the cash when two motorcycle-borne miscreants allegedly attacked them and tried to snatch the cash bag.
The employees resisted, forcing the suspects to flee without the money towards Khurda. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras.
Police have launched an investigation and are examining the CCTV footage and other evidence to identify and trace the suspects.
