Free health camp organised by SUM Lifesciences and SOA NSS

Bhubaneswar, Sept 16: A free health check-up camp was organised on Wednesday by the NSS Bureau of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University, Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, and SUM Lifesciences.

The camp was held at the SUM Lifesciences premises at Gothapatna on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar and continued from 10 am to 2 pm. More than 100 construction workers and employees engaged at SUM Lifesciences availed themselves of the health services.

A team of doctors conducted health check-ups including blood pressure, blood sugar, eye, skin and dental examinations, besides general health assessments. Medicines were also distributed free of cost to those requiring them.

The programme was coordinated by SOA NSS Programme Coordinator Dr. Kamal Lochan Mohanty, Chief Coordinator of SUM Lifesciences Narottam Das, NSS Programme Officer of IMS and SUM Hospital Dr. Sishir Kumar and NSS official Rajashekhar Behera.

Dr. Sumitra Pattnaik, Head of the Department of Community Medicine, IMS and SUM Hospital, and Assistant Professor Dr. Sumitra Swain also participated in the camp and provided health-related guidance to the workers and employees.
