Mahindra XUV 7XO earns five stars in Bharat NCAP.
Mahindra’s three-row SUV, the XUV 7XO, achieved a five-star safety rating in the latest Bharat NCAP evaluations. Scoring an impressive 30.76 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 44.97 out of 49 points for child occupant protection, this vehicle sets a high standard for family safety. India's push for stricter automotive safety standards has driven local manufacturers to prioritize robust structural integrity and advanced safety features in modern passenger vehicles. During the frontal offset deformable barrier assessment, the 2,059kg SUV earned 14.76 out of a possible 16 points. It also achieved a perfect 16 out of 16 points in the side movable deformable barrier test. Assessors additionally recorded an ‘OK’ result for the side pole impact evaluation.

Child safety and assessment performance
Evaluators awarded the XUV 7XO 23.97 out of 24 points in the dynamic child protection category. The SUV secured a flawless 12 out of 12 for child restraint system installation, while the general vehicle assessment added another 9 out of 13 points to the final tally. ISOFIX mounts, child restraint compatibility, and an airbag cut-off switch are available across specified seating positions to ensure maximum security for younger passengers.
Conducted in July 2026 under the AIS-197 framework, the official tests utilized the AX7 and AX7L diesel automatic seven-seater models. However, this five-star rating extends to petrol, diesel, manual, automatic, and diesel automatic AWD variants. Standard equipment across all versions includes electronic stability control, curtain airbags for side head protection, pedestrian protection, and seat belt reminders. Frontal airbags, belt pretensioners, and load-limiters are also factory standard, though knee airbags remain optional.
