Under its influence, heavy rainfall is likely to occur across Odisha in the next two days.

As per the IMD, heavy to very heavy rain is anticipated in several regions, including Balasore, Bhadrak, and Kendrapara districts, triggering an orange alert for these areas. A yellow alert has been issued for the rest of the state, indicating moderate rainfall.

In light of the rough sea conditions, the state authorities have advised fishermen to refrain from venturing into the sea until tomorrow. The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has also instructed all District Magistrates in Odisha to stay alert and take necessary precautions in response to the expected downpour.

This year, the southwest monsoon has arrived early in Odisha, much ahead of its usual onset in the second week of June. The monsoon has already covered Malkangiri and Koraput districts in southern Odisha, along with parts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, and Gajapati districts. The prevailing weather conditions suggest that the monsoon is likely to advance further in the coming days.
