Dhenkanal, June 8: In a tragic incident, a woman and her brother-in-law died in lightning strike in Bandhahuin village of Hindol block on Saturday.

It was revealed after the duo’s bodies were recovered from a mango orchard in the evening.

The deceased have been identified as Subashini Sahu and her in-law Ganeshwar Sahu.

The incident occurred in Bandhahuin village under Baunshpokhari panchayat when lightning struck during a norwester accompanied by rain and thunderstorm.

The twin deaths have cast a pall of grief in the area. On being informed police seized the bodies and sent them for post mortem exams.

An UD case has been registered in this connection.
