Bhubaneswar, Jul 25: A lady journalist, identified as Madhusmita Parida, was found dead on railway tracks near Kedarpalli slums in Bhubaneswar.
Madhusmita, who was employed with a web channel, had been residing in a rented house in the Bapuji Nagar area.
Being informed, police quickly arrived at the scene and have launched an investigation into the matter.
Amidst the unfolding investigation, a purported video recorded by Madhusmita before her death has surfaced on social media, shedding light on her troubled personal life. In the video, she revealed the distress she faced due to her husband's alleged extramarital affair and his decision to end their marriage. She expressed how this situation led to constant arguments, severely impacting her professional life.
In the emotional video, Madhusmita stated, "My husband is involved in an extramarital affair with another woman. He is unwilling to remain with me. Despite many attempts by others to persuade him to resume our marital life, he has refused." She further mentioned that the marital discord made it difficult for her to attend work, and she apologised to her family, indicating she could no longer endure the situation.
Family members of the deceased have accused Madhusmita's husband, Sridhar Jena, of being responsible for her death. However, Jena has denied all allegations against him.
