Jajpur, Sept 5: In an unfortunate incident, the body of a youth was recovered from a canal near Rathia under Dharamshala police limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Rudra Prasad Behera, son of Narahari Behera of Abhaypur village in the district.
According to the information, Rudra was missing for the last two days. Despite a frantic search by his family members, Rudra's whereabouts remained unknown. Later, they filed a missing report at the Dharmasala police station on Wednesday.
However, locals spotted the body of Rajat floating in the canal and informed police as well as his family members.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the youth may have been killed due to a love affair, but police have stated that they are still looking into the matter.
