Bhubaneswar, Sept 26: The International Shree Jagannath Mahotsav will be held at Kasturba Field (Ravanpodi field) at Nayapalli in Bhubaneswar from November 8 to 13, aiming to promote the glory, culture, ethics, and spirituality of Lord Jagannath on a global platform.
The festival will showcase 24 rare forms of Lord Jagannath and feature an exhibition of 56 types of bhoga, along with a spiritual open market. A five-day ‘world peace yagna,’ inspired by the Skanda Purana, will also be conducted during the event.
In addition, there will be exhibitions of books and handicrafts related to Jagannath culture, attracting saints and devotees from across India.
“Spiritual leader Babaji Amritanand Das Maharaj will deliver speech on the tradition and culture of Lord Jagannath for five evenings, drawing from the Skanda Purana’s account of Sri Purushottam Kshetra,” announced committee chairman Jagannath Pradhan.
The event is expected to draw participation from prominent figures, including Puri king Dibyasingha Deb, as well as the governor, chief minister, deputy chief ministers, MLAs, administrators, and intellectuals.
“Artisans like Alok Sahu and Chandan Kumar have been tasked with designing the main entrance, inspired by the Singhadwar and Meghanada Pacheri of the Puri temple,” stated working chairman Dilip Srichandan.
