Punjab, May 10:Blackout orders and other restrictions imposed following the breakout of India-Pak war, were lifted up in Punjab on Saturday evening after Ceasefire.
The Competent Authorities in Punjab withdrew orders pertaining to enforcement of blackout acting on the decision of ceasefire, both the nations agreed today.
District administrations of Sangrur, Rupnagar and Fazilka withdrew blackout orders while authorities in districts like Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Patiala also cancelled all the restrictive orders inposed in the wake of warlike situations on the border.
Thus, the order for enforcing a blackout from 8 pm till 6 am on Sunday, in the Sangrur district was soon cancelled.
"All restrictive orders are hereby withdrawn. Thank you for your support," said Patiala Deputy Commissioner Preeti Yadav.
Hoshiarpur DC Aashika Jain said, "All restriction orders stand suspended. Normalcy restored. Thanks for all your cooperation, support and efforts in challenging times."
Worth mentioning, earlier in the day, authorities in Punjab’s Jalandhar, Pathankot, and Kapurthala districts had urged the locals for closure of markets and commercial establishments, due the India-Pakistan tension which was on the rise.
