Pawan Kalyan undergoes shoulder surgery; CM Naidu visits him in Mumbai

Mumbai, July 12: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday visited the Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, who underwent a surgical procedure on his right shoulder in Mumbai.

He arrived at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai to inquire about the health and recovery of Kalyan.

The JanaSena Party shared an update on X regarding the meeting, stating, "Honorable Chief Minister Shri @ncbn visited Deputy Chief Minister Shri @PawanKalyan garu, who underwent surgical treatment on his right shoulder in Mumbai. A short while ago, Shri Chandrababu Naidu garu arrived at the hospital, spoke with Shri Pawan Kalyan garu, and inquired about his health condition."

According to the JanaSena Party, the surgery was necessitated due to a rotator cuff injury along with an avulsion fracture in the shoulder and was successfully completed on Saturday.

"The surgery performed on Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan garu in Mumbai has been successful. A team of doctors led by Dr Dinsha Parthiwala, a world-renowned orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine expert, performed surgery on Shri Pawan Kalyan garu's right shoulder," the party said on X.

Following the surgery, Pawan Kalyan recieved many well-wishes for his recovery.

There are rotator cuff injuries to both of his shoulders, but performing surgery on both at the same time would have caused pain, which led to an initial surgery of the right shoulder, while surgery for the other shoulder will be required within a period of two months, according to the Deputy Chief Minister's office.

In an X post, the Deputy CMO emphasised that Kalyan sustained shoulder injuries in 2016, which resurfaced in 2019 after initial treatment.

It emphasised that Kalyan endured pain for many years with a smile while meeting the public and campaigning, where shaking hands is required. The level of injury came to light when he had surgery on his nose, and tests showed "severe levels of rotator cuff injuries and muscle tears in the shoulders".

"Despite such severe injuries, doctors were astonished at how he was enduring them. Doctors recommended surgery as soon as possible at that time itself. In this sequence, a few weeks ago, he underwent medical examinations in Mumbai. As part of this, the operation on the right shoulder was performed on Saturday. Currently, monitoring by doctors continues," the Deputy CMO said on X. (ANI)
