Cuttack, June 4: In yet another major crackdown, Jagatpur police have busted a factory involved in manufacturing counterfeit mobile oil and grease near Khaira Pole in Champati Panchayat. The factory is suspected to have been operational for several years, producing fake products under the labels of reputed companies.
Acting on specific complaints, a police team led by Zone ACP Arun Swain conducted a raid on the premises and seized nearly two truckloads of fake mobile oil, engine oil, and lubricants. Two individuals have been detained in connection with the illegal operation, and further investigation is underway.
Police sources revealed that the counterfeit goods were being prepared to mimic the packaging and branding of leading lubricant manufacturers, potentially endangering consumer safety and damaging corporate reputations.
Jagatpur has increasingly come under the scanner for being a hotspot of counterfeit activity. Despite repeated enforcement actions, such illegal units continue to thrive, raising serious questions about regulatory oversight and the effectiveness of deterrence.
Authorities have assured that the crackdown on counterfeit manufacturing will continue with increased vigilance in the coming days.
