Bhubaneswar, July 1: Institute of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS), faculty of management sciences of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here, organised an international workshop on ‘Application of Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) Tools in Research’ last week.
The workshop was organised in collaboration with the Papua New Guinea University of Technology, Lae, Papua New Guinea.
Inaugurating the event, Prof. (Dr.) Jibitesh Mishra, Professor of Computer Science and Applications and Dean (Students’ Welfare) at the Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR), Bhubaneswar, underscored the rising significance of MCDM tools in navigating the complexities of the present volatile global business environment.
Prof. Ayasa Kanta Mohanty, Dean of IBCS, presided over the program while Prof. Manoranjan Dash, Associate Dean, IBCS, delivered the keynote address.
Both the speakers emphasized the strategic role of decision-making frameworks in solving multi-criteria problems across diverse research domains such as marketing, human resources and finance.
The technical session was conducted by Prof. Kamalakanta Muduli, Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering at Papua New Guinea University of Technology who focused on the practical applications of MCDM tools in management research.
The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Bibhuti Bhushan Mishra, Associate Professor and Dr. Preeti Y. Shadangi, Assistant Professor in the institute.
