IAS Officer Dhiman Chakma denied Bail in bribery case

Bhawanipatna, June 18: The Special Vigilance Court has rejected the bail application of IAS officer Dhiman Chakma, who is currently in judicial custody on charges of corruption.
Chakma, who was serving as the Sub-Collector of Dharmagarh, was arrested by the Vigilance Department after being caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹10 lakh from a crusher unit owner.
Following his arrest, Chakma was placed under suspension as per standard administrative procedure. The court’s decision to deny bail comes amid ongoing investigations into the bribery case.
