Odisha celebrates gold and silver victories in para-boccia championship
Odisha athletes Damayanti Ojha and Sonali Ojha delivered outstanding performances to capture gold and silver medals at the recent Boccia Federation Cup 2026. Competing in the BC4 Women's Individual category, both sports stars dominated their matches during the highly competitive national tournament held in New Delhi from October 3 to October 8, 2026. This double victory brings immense pride to the state's rapidly growing para-sports ecosystem, which continuously identifies and nurtures top-tier talent for national events.

Organizers recorded participation from 44 elite competitors representing 16 different states across India. Navigating this challenging field, Damayanti outplayed her opponents to clinch the highest honor with a gold medal. Sonali followed closely, securing the silver medal in the same highly competitive category. Their combined success reflects rigorous daily training and deep dedication to para-boccia, a specialized sport demanding extreme precision, control, and mental focus.
