Chandigarh, Aug 21: Haryana's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Pankaj Agarwal, has outlined the schedule and details for the upcoming Haryana Legislative Assembly elections. With 2.03 crore voters registered, the nomination process for candidates is set to conclude by September 12, with scrutiny scheduled for the following day. Candidates will have until September 16 to withdraw their nominations, and voting is slated for October 1, with results to be announced on October 4.
Agarwal announced that the final voter list will be published on August 27. He urged any young individuals who turned 18 by July 1 and find their names missing from the list to contact their Booth Level Officer (BLO) to ensure their registration is completed.
The state's voter base includes 2,03,27,631 individuals, comprising 1,08,19,021 men, 95,08,155 women, and 455 third-gender voters. Among these, there are 4,82,896 voters aged 18 to 19, 1,49,387 voters with disabilities, and 2,42,818 voters over the age of 85. Additionally, 9,554 voters are over 100 years old, and 41,52,806 voters fall within the 20 to 29 age group.
Haryana will have 20,629 polling booths, with 7,132 located in urban areas and 13,497 in rural regions, distributed across 10,495 locations throughout the state.
The state comprises 90 Assembly constituencies, including 17 reserved seats. Candidates are permitted to spend up to ₹40 lakh on their election campaigns and must report the details of a dedicated bank account to the District Election Officer.
Agarwal also noted that candidates can use the Suvidha App to obtain approvals for election rallies, roadshows, and other campaign-related activities. Voters can access candidate background information through the KYC App, and a special Saksham App has been developed to assist voters with disabilities.
