Balangir, Aug 18: Taking stringent action against fraudulent activities by government officials, the district administration of Balangir dismissed four government teachers for furnishing fake educational certificates for their job.

The accused teachers have been identified as Sanjit Pani Mahanand, Mrinmayee Panda, Biranchi Prasad Nayak and Alma Toppo.

According to the report, after the dismissal order was issued by the DEO, police wrote to the banks to freeze the accounts of fake teachers. The DEO of Balangir district lodged a police complaint after he found the teachers had furnished fake educational qualification certificates. Based on the complaint, police arrested Panda, who had been working as a Hindi teacher at Randa high school since 2013. However, the others managed to abscond in fear of arrest.

Worth mentioning, the Balangir Education Department has sent the certificates of 400 teachers for verification, after a fake certificate racket busted in the district.
