Raikia, May 22: The Forest Department rescued a Kutra that was brutally attacked by 4–5 stray dogs in the Katakandi forest under Raikia police station.

The incident occurred while the Kutra was drinking water, when the strays surrounded and mauled it, leaving it severely injured and bleeding.

Villagers immediately informed the Forest Department, which quickly sent a team to the site.

The team rescued the dog and provided initial treatment at the animal care center before bringing it to the Forest Department office for further attention.

Forest officer Debasmita stated that once the Kutra fully recovers, it will be released back into the forest.
