Puri, Sept 3: The newly formed Shri Jagannath Temple Managing Committee will hold its first meeting today at 10:30 AM at Niladri Bhakta Nivas, Puri, under the chairmanship of Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb.

Key officials including the Chief Administrator, District Collector, SP, senior servitors, and other dignitaries will attend.

The agenda includes welcoming new members, forming sub-committees, ratifying minutes of the May 26 high-level meeting, and crucial decisions on implementing a queue-based darshan system from September 15 and inventory of Ratna Bhandar ornaments.

The previous committee's term ended in August 2024, and the Rath Yatra was conducted without a formal committee, leading to administrative issues. With the new committee in place, structured management and key reforms are expected to move forward.
