Fire Safety Audit Conducted at Khan Global Studies Amid Ongoing Probe into Patna Violence

Patna, June 7: Police intensified scrutiny of the Khan Global Studies coaching institute in Patna as the Fire Department carried out a safety audit on Sunday amid an ongoing police investigation into a recent disturbance at the institute's premises.

The inspection follows a violent incident reported on the night of June 2 near Musallahpur Haat, where clashes, stone-pelting, and damage to property allegedly took place around 10:10 pm. After the incident, Patna Police registered Case No. 410/26 and launched a detailed investigation.

During the course of the probe, investigators reportedly examined video footage that allegedly showed two individuals firing shots into the air after the vandalism occurred. Police later identified the individuals as security personnel linked to the coaching institute. The firearms allegedly used in the incident have been seized and forwarded to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for examination.

On June 5, Kadamkuan Police Station registered an FIR against noted educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, along with two other individuals. The case includes charges under Section 109 (abetment) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 25(9), 27, and 35 of the Arms Act.

The incident triggered heightened security measures in the area, with a large number of students gathering near the institute on June 3, prompting deployment of additional police personnel to maintain order.

Officials from the office of the City Superintendent of Police (Central) stated that ensuring public safety and preserving law and order remain the administration's primary concerns. In an advisory issued to students, police urged them not to be influenced by rivalry among coaching institutes and stressed that strict action would be taken against any activities that threaten peace and security.

Meanwhile, the fire safety inspection is being viewed as part of a wider administrative exercise to verify compliance with safety norms and regulatory requirements at educational institutions operating in the city.

Authorities indicated that further legal and administrative measures may follow as forensic reports are received and the investigation progresses.
