Berhampur, June 25: A fake homeopathy doctor in Berhampur was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly abusing a girl sexually.
Police also took two women to custody in this connection, for assisting the accused in the heinous crime.
The prime accused has been identified as Bhabani Sankar Das (47), a resident of Niranjan Nagar in Berhampur.
Two women accomplices are Priyanka Sahu, receptionist of Das’ clinic and an Anganwadi worker of the area.
According to reports, Das was running an illegal clinic in Berhampur where he treats patient despite no valid Medical Degree. Meanwhile, he propagated himself as a volunteer, to patronize needy girl’s education.
On being informed of the man’s charity, a woman contacted Das for facilitating her daughter’s higher education. Accordingly, Das assured the lady to admit her ward in BSc. Nursing free of cost. However, he sexually abused the minor girl lodging her in a hostel providing mild intoxicant in water through an Anganwadi worker.
Following the ordeal, she informed her parents about the doctor’s abuse.Later on, a complaint was lodged with police in this connection and the three were arrested.
