Balasore, July 27: While the triple-train collision at Bahanaga in Odisha’s Balasore yet frightens the passengers, a certain mishap was averted in the Puri-Howrah Dhauli Superfast Express here after an electrical fire wreaked panic among the passengers on Sunday.

According to reports, the fire scare was reported on the Howrah-Puri Dhauli Superfast Express after smoke was detected in the SLRD coach late on Sunday night in while the train, filled with passengers was passing the Balasore district limits.

On being aware of from the passenger’s concern, the crew members soon responded and informed the fire services wings and the railways safety officials.

Following this, railway authorities immediately halted the train at Markona railway station and addressed the issues. The entire train was at first evacuated for safety & security of the passengers onboard while the sources of blaze was dealt with.

As the electrical problems were addressed, the affected coach was detached from the engine and the train resumed its journey for Howrah, after the scheduled departure.

Further examination is underway by the railway safety officials, to find out the technical snags that triggered the electrical fire in the running coach.
