Bhubaneswar, Oct 12: The Odisha government has directly credited the second phase of the Rs 5,000 under the Subhadra Yojana to beneficiaries' accounts on October 9, coinciding with Durga Puja celebrations. However, many women are still waiting for the first installment, creating frustration among thousands who have yet to receive their funds.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has assured that payments for the first installment will continue until every eligible applicant has been compensated.
She emphasized that the government will reach out to all those affected.
“We will ensure that every deserving woman in the state receives the Subhadra support. Those who have not received their money will be included in the third phase, with the announcement date coming soon,” Parida stated.
To date, around 1.6 million women have registered for the scheme, and there are sufficient funds to support all applicants. Some have faced challenges due to glitches in the registration process or other issues.
Parida mentioned that the government will contact these women to address their concerns.
Additionally, verification will occur at the block level, with Anganwadi workers tasked with conducting door-to-door surveys to identify beneficiaries who have not received their payments, she added.
