Bhubaneswar, June 28: Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan took part in the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' mass plantation campaign on Saturday, reiterating India's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.

Addressing a meeting at Sambalpur, Pradhan highlighted how planting trees not only contributes to environmental restoration but also supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

"Planting trees in Sambalpur today is a powerful step towards nurturing nature, fulfilling global climate goals, and building a net-zero India by 2070," he said.

Pradhan praised the collaborative spirit of the initiative, which saw participation from schools, colleges, women’s groups, youth associations, administrative offices, and local organisations. He noted that the involvement of diverse stakeholders had transformed the campaign into a people’s movement.
