Bhubaneswar, Dec 28:The Odisha government has granted Rs 1 crore for the Bargarh Dhanu Jatra – 2025.

In view of making the cultural festivity more magnificent, the grant has been hiked from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 Crore, said a press communiqué, issued by the CMO on Saturday.

With a boost to the cultural troupes, the government in a first has allocated Rs 10,000 to each of the 170 artists who participate in the largest open-air theatre.

Apart from it, the veteran actors of the Dhanu Yatra would be felicitated from the funds.

Similarly, an expert committee will be formed to pursue UNESCO heritage status for the Dhanu Jatra with the revised contribution, said the release.
