Guwahati, Jan 3: The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) Assam has issued a notification inviting applications for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Teachers in Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) schools.
Total no. of vacancies:
- Assistant Teacher, Science Teacher and Hindi Teacher of UP schools: 1750 vacancies.
- Assistant Teacher of LP schools: 3800 vacancies
Pay scale: Rs 14,000 to Rs 70,000
“The aspiring candidate must be ready to serve in their respective places of posting in terms of choice of their districts,” stated the notification.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have passed class 10th/class 12th/Diploma/Degree in relevant discipline from an UGC recognized University or Institute.
The candidates who have passed the ATET/CTET for Lower Primary School will be eligible for applying.
Either the Language-I or the Language-II of both ATET and CTET candidates shall match the medium of instruction of the school, wherein the candidate wishes to apply.
Age Limit:
A candidate must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years for unreserved category, 42 years for Ex-Servicemen, 43 years for OBC/ MOBC and 45 years for SC/ ST(P)/ST(H) and 50 years for Persons with Disability (PwD), as on 1st January, 2023.

- Passport Size Photograph
- HSLC Admit Card
- HSSLC Mark-sheet and Certificate
- Graduation Mark-sheet and Certificate
- Any other Mark-sheet and Certificate of higher education
- DElEd/ BEd Marksheet (1st Year & 2nd Year) and Certificate
- Caste Certificate (in case of SC/ ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC)
- Document in support of Permanent Resident of Assam
- Certificate and Mark sheet of ATET/CTET for UPS
- Candidates with disabilities will have to enclose certificates of disabilities issued by Govt. authority
- Certificate of Ex-servicemen issued by the Director, Sainik Welfare Board
