Bhubaneswar, Jul 7: Girls have outpaced boys in securing admissions in Plus-II courses across the State, said an official release on Monday.
As per the latest data provided by Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE), a total of 4,46,205 students had applied during this phase, out of which 4,13,804 students have been selected for admission, marking a selection rate of approximately 92.75% in the first phase.
Of 4,13,804 students selected for admission, 2,17,529 were girls and 1,96,268 were male students while seven students came under the other category list, the communiqué stated.
Highest 2,64,766 students have been selected in Arts stream followed by 1,17,089 in Science stream, 20,552 students in Commerce stream, 6,811 students in d) Upashastri stream and 4,586 in vocational education, it added.
As many as 2,87,219 students have been allotted seats in their first preference Higher Secondary School.
A total of 32,401 students remain unselected in Phase-I e-Admission process.
Students who have not been selected in Phase-I (1st Selection) will get another opportunity to participate in the selected Selection as well as in the Online SPOT Selection process accordingly.
The Plus-II classes will commence from July 24 across all Higher Secondary Schools of the State.
