Corporate Care Facility Under Investigation For Torture
Bengaluru police officers registered a criminal case against five daycare employees at the Capgemini Brookfield campus crèche after horrific videos revealed toddlers experiencing physical assault, isolation, and mental harassment. Filed at the HAL police station by district child protection official Tilakesh Kumar, the First Information Report details severe cruelty against the children of IT professionals. State authorities launched the action after receiving an anonymous distress call regarding the facility.
Horrific Abuse Methods Detailed in Police Complaint
Five caregivers identified as Manjula, Vijayalakshmi, Bhavani, Sindhu, and Bindu face charges of criminal intimidation and child cruelty. Evidentiary videos sent via WhatsApp showed workers locking weeping toddlers inside washing machines to terrify them. Staff also forced children into water-filled pipes, confined them in restrooms, and sprayed them with toilet jet sprays. Parents and law enforcement expressed deep horror at the severe treatment of vulnerable toddlers left at the facility during work hours.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Saidulu Adavath confirmed that interrogation notices are being issued to the accused individuals. While this corporate daycare crisis unfolds in Karnataka, it mirrors growing national anxieties regarding unmonitored private childcare facilities, a critical concern for working parents in emerging IT hubs like Bhubaneswar. Responding to the public outrage, Capgemini suspended operations at the Brookfield site. Corporate representatives stated that the company prioritizes family safety and is cooperating fully with law enforcement to establish the facts.
