On Sunday, the first floodwater release of the season was carried out. While this has caused the Mahanadi River to swell slightly, the Water Resources Department has assured there is no immediate threat of flooding.

Precautionary measures are in place in low-lying areas. Residents have been advised to stay away from riverbanks, and warning sirens and public announcements are being used to alert communities. Mobile awareness vans are also moving through villages to spread safety information.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, ensuring swift action if conditions escalate.
