
Bhubaneswar, Sept 30: A cyclonic circulation is expected to form over the Andaman Sea on Tuesday (Ashtami), which may lead to the development of a low-pressure area over North Odisha and adjoining Bay of Bengal by Navami, according to the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.
Under its influence, rainfall activity across Odisha is set to increase starting Tuesday, with heavy to moderate showers likely in several parts of the state. Southern Odisha districts are expected to receive more intense rainfall, while coastal regions may experience light to moderate showers.
The Met Centre has predicted light to moderate rainfall in some areas of the state on Tuesday, accompanied by winds gusting between 30 to 40 kmph.
A yellow warning has been issued for multiple districts, including:
Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
As per the forecast, one or two locations in each of these districts are likely to witness rainfall during this period.
Authorities have advised the public and local administrations to stay alert and monitor weather updates closely.
