Cuttack, Sept 25: The Dussehra immersion procession in Cuttack will be telecast live this year, with the Information and Public Relations Department set to broadcast the grand procession. The decision was taken at a Dussehra Puja preparatory meeting held on Thursday at Netaji Sanskruti Bhawan in Cuttack, chaired by District Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde.
According to officials, the live telecast will be conducted from four different locations across the city. A book on the city's Durga Puja celebrations will also be released during the upcoming Bali Jatra.
The District Collector said arrangements for public toilets at various locations across Cuttack would be put in place from the beginning of the Durga Puja festivities. In addition, decorative arches will be installed at four major entry points to the city. Necessary civic and other infrastructure-related issues will also be addressed before the Puja celebrations begin.
The meeting was attended by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner, Mayor, members of the Peace Committee and office-bearers of various Cuttack Durga Puja committees.
Representatives of the Puja committees apprised the administration of various issues and sought necessary measures to ensure smooth and hassle-free celebrations.
