Delhi, May 4: In one of the rarest incident, a CRPF Jawan was dismissed from his job for marrying a Pak woman.
The sacked Jawan, identified as jawan Munir Ahmed had reportedly concealed his cross-border marriage to the CRPF authorities.
Munir and Pak woman identified as Menal Khan got married over a video call on May 24 last year.
Munir Ahmed was sacked from service as his action was found to be detrimental to national security, said CRPF official sources.
The jawan was last posted with the 41st battalion of paramilitary CRPF, the lead internal security force of the country.
"Munir Ahmed has been dismissed from service with immediate effect for concealing his marriage to a Pakistani national and knowingly harbouring her beyond the validity of her visa.
"His actions were found to be in violation of service conduct and detrimental to national security," CRPF spokesperson Deputy Inspector General (DIG) M Dhinakaran said.
Ahmed's illegal marriage with Menal, wreaked rows and came to light during the deportation of Pakistani nationals in the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
Following this, CRPF’s probe found the jawan had "not intimated" his wedding and her overstaying in India to his authorities.
