Phulbani, May 27: A couple in Odisha’s Kandhamal district amassed public appreciation on Monday for donating blood on marriage anniversary.
The couple was identified as Anand Prasad Sahu and Chandini, residents of the Phiringia area of the Kandhamal district.
Sources said Anand who is a regular blood donor and a frontliner of organizing Mega Blood donation camps, celebrated his firsts marriage anniversary with organizing a blood donation camp in the district headquarters hospital. Anand, his spouse Chandni, his elder brother accompanied by his kith and kin donated blood on the occasion, to address the lack of blood transfusion across the district.
Lauding the social missionary of his son, Anand’s father Mahadeb Sahu said, “I am proud of my son for his innovative venture that encourages youth towards voluntary blood donation.”
