Bhubaneswar, Dec, 02: Politics is heating up in Ganjam district, stronghold of BJD and the home district of chief minister Naveen Patnaik. Opposition BJP and Congress are preparing ground for a tough fight with the ruling party in the coming general elections.
BJP is drawing up a program for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Ganjam in January. It is informed that the Prime Minister will attend the inauguration ceremony of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) building at Laudigaon near Brahmapur
On the other hand, Congress party is preparing to hold a rally for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi this month in Brahampur city.
Recently, the BJP has organized mass rallies and protests in different blocks and municipalities and has shown its strength. State President Manmohan Samal and other state leaders, were also present there. Now party is trying hard to make the workers active for the coming election.
Meanwhile, BJD has launched various programs to strengthen its position in the district. "Ama Odisha, New Odisha" program has been launched at higher secondary school and degree college level to attract youth voters.
