Puri, May 1: As the world-famous Rath Yatra approaches, preparations are in full swing at the Sri Jagannath Temple. The work on assembling and connecting the wheels of the chariots has progressed smoothly.
Temple servitors, after performing rituals and offerings near the office of the temple, carefully aligned the wheels and framework of the chariots, ensuring that the structures are ready for the festival. The work coincides with the sacred occasion of Nrusimha Chaturdashi, during which auspicious arrangements have been made for the wheels and other chariot components.
According to temple traditions, the three grand chariots will each be mounted on six sturdy wheels. The wheel construction is being executed swiftly by the temple artisans, while the carpenters in the workshop are preparing the chariots’ axles, bolts, and supporting structures to ensure their strength and stability.
The Rath Yatra, celebrated with immense devotion, draws millions of devotees from across the globe, and the meticulous preparations at the Sri Jagannath Temple highlight the cultural and spiritual significance of this festival.
