Nuapada, November 1: Komana Police on Friday registered a case against senior BJD leader Pranab Prakash Das, who is popularly known as Bobby in the BJD rank and file and party’s Khariar MLA Adhiraj Panigrahi for physical assaulting and verbal abusing a youth in poll-bound Nuapada.
The development came after a tribal youth identified as Jitu Adabanga lodged a written complaint against them at the Komana police station accusing them of physical assault and verbal abuse at the farmhouse of BJD leader Manoj Mishra.
The two leaders were booked under Section 126 (2), 296, 115 (2), 351 (2) & 3 (5) of the BNS after one Jitu Adbang lodged a FIR yesterday at Komana police station alleging that he was beaten up by Bobby Das and others and also subjected to obscene language and threats over his alleged association with BJP.
As per the complaint, Jitu was summoned to the farmhouse of BJD leader Manoj Mishra, where he was beaten up by Bobby Das and others. In his written statement, the complainant claims he was also subjected to obscene language and threats by Das and Panigrahi, and was questioned over his alleged association with the BJP.
“I could have lost my life had the police not rescued me in time,” the complaint reads.
