Bhubaneswar, June 14: A bike-lifting gang was nabbed in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
At least 11 bikes were seized and 5 members of the gang were arrested by the Tamando Police.
The key accused have been identified as Manish Patnaik and Baburao Acharya.
According to reports, an Enfield Bullet bike was theft from Kaliga Virhar a few days ago. The bike owner had lodged a complaint with the Tamando Police. Based on the CCTV footage, the police reached the lifter and further investigation into it, busted the gang which was on the prowl.
Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena while elaborating the investigation said, "Following the arrest of the main accused Manish Patnaik and Baburao Acharya and their interrogation, the other gang members were arrested and the stolen bikes in their possession were seized,"
Further investigation is underway to reach at other members of the gangs and the unlawful purchaser,the DCP said.
