Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 22: A full emergency was declared at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Thursday morning following a bomb threat aboard an Air India flight from Mumbai, according to airport sources. The aircraft, carrying 135 passengers, landed safely at the airport around 8:00 am and was immediately moved to an isolation bay.
By 8:44 am, all passengers were safely evacuated from the flight. The bomb threat was reported by the pilot at 7:30 am as the plane approached the airport. In response, a full emergency was declared at 7:36 am.
"There has been no impact on life. Airport operations are currently uninterrupted," the sources confirmed. Further details regarding the origin of the threat are yet to be released.
