Paradip, Aug 2: In a tragic incident, a boat with as many as 8 fishermen onboard has been swept away in the Bay of Bengal near the mouth of the Mahanadi.
Sources said, a fishing motor-boat named ‘Shrikshetra’ after going out of order, was being carried aground by another boat named ‘Gopaljew -6’. However, the rope with which the boat was being towed away collapsed all of a sudden in the water. As a result, the motor-boat with fishermen was swept away with the tidal wave.
The missing boat and the fishermen are yet to be traced, sources added.
