Bhubaneswar, Mar 16: In a tragic incident, a youth was hacked to death while trying to save his friend in Laxmisagar area in Bhubaneswar. The incident occurred late on Friday night at Chintamaniswar area under Laxmisagar police limits over a triangular love story.
The deceased youth has been identified as Anjan Behera. However, the accused, Kahna Pradhan alias Pinku fled from the spot after committing the crime.
According to the information, the victim, Anjan, was a friend of Goutam, who was in a love relationship with a girl. On a Friday night after attending a party, Goutam and Anjan went to meet the girl. During their conversation, Pinku, who happens to be another boyfriend of the girl reached the spot and attacked Goutam with a sword following a heated argument. Anjan, trying to save his friend, sustained critical injuries to his hand and other parts of his body in the process.
He was rushed to Capital Hospital in a critical condition. However, he succumbed to his injuries.A complaint in this regard has been lodged with Laxmisagar police station. However, police is yet to nab the accused.
