Kolkata, August 5: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that they will support whatever decision the central government takes after Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister reportedly reached India amid ongoing violence in the country,
Reports indicate that she left the country with her sister Sheikh Rehana on Monday afternoon aboard a military helicopter bound for India.
The Bengal CM also appealed to the people to maintain peace in the state urging them not to pay attention to any kind of rumors.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Locket Chatterjee said that if needed Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interfere in the matter of political crisis in Bangladesh.
In a dramatic turn of events, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned from her post, with the announcement of an interim government to run the country. The announcement was made by Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Monday in a televised address to the nation.
