Balasore, Oct 4: A yoga, meditation and Drug-Free India awareness programme was organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) at the Indoor Stadium near ITI Square in Balasore.
The programme focused on encouraging young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle through regular yoga, pranayama and meditation, while staying away from substance abuse.
Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of yoga and pranayama in maintaining physical and mental well-being. They also stressed the need for greater awareness among young people about the harmful effects of drug addiction.
Balasore MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi, who attended the programme as the chief guest, said that the youth are the foundation of nation-building. He stressed that their participation is essential for creating a healthy and drug-free society.
During the programme, Sarangi administered a pledge against drug use to the youth workers and members of the public present at the event.
Participants pledged to stay away from drugs and encourage others to refrain from substance abuse.
The programme concluded with a message encouraging young people to maintain a healthy lifestyle, reject addiction and contribute towards building a healthier society.
