The accused has been identified as Shahzad who hails from Moradabad. Shahzad, a resident of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, had been visiting Pakistan for the past several years, said ATS sources. He was also smuggling cosmetics, clothes, spices, and other goods illegally across the border between India and Pakistan.
Under the guise of a businessman, he was working for the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. Investigation revealed that Shahzad had good relations with the agents of ISI, with whom he was in constant touch.
According to the ATS, Shahzad had shared confidential information related to India's security with the agents of ISI getting financial benefits from the ISI.
