Bolangir, July 4: Dileswar Majhi, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Titlagarh R&B Sub-Division under Kantabanji R&B Division, was arrested by Odisha Vigilance on charges of possessing disproportionate assets (DA). He has been booked in connection with a case under Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 13/2025 and will be produced before the Special Judge, Vigilance Court, Bolangir later today.
The arrest follows a series of searches conducted by the Vigilance Directorate at multiple properties linked to Majhi, during which officials uncovered significant discrepancies in his assets. Among the items seized were four buildings, a market complex, nine high-value plots of land, over 300 grams of gold, and cash amounting to Rs. 6.57 lakhs. In addition, Majhi had deposits totaling more than Rs. 49.45 lakhs, which he failed to provide satisfactory explanations for.
The Vigilance Bureau has initiated an investigation to determine the source of these unaccounted assets.
